Hello, my name is Hazen. I know, it is an interesting name- I am my human Daddy's namesake.
Sometimes they call me 'Raisin' or 'Hazen-Raisin', because I am so sweet. I was born February 26, 2007.
I am an Italian Greyhound, sometimes they call us IG's or Iggy's- but we are definitely not Whippets, baby Greyhounds or miniature anything.
The last time Mommy & Daddy took me to the doctor, they weighed me and the machine said I was 12.5 pounds.
The average weight for an Iggy is 10 pounds, so I am doing alright. I am neutered because Mommy & Daddy want to leave the breeding to
the professionals. You may have noticed my unusual markings; I am nearly all 'white' with a large patch of 'seal' over my right eye
and a few faint patches on my snout and ear - did you notice my half pink nose?!. These markings are called Piebald or Pied and they are
definitely one reason I get a lot of attention, and the way I elegantly prance or high step is another. Unfortunately, my extreme piebald
markings (white head and ears) not only made me cute, they are the reason I am also deaf. Most people have no idea I cannot hear because
I am a perfectly normal dog in every other way, I just 'hear' with my eyes and my nose. My Mommy has taught me some sign language.
So far, I know the sign for good job / good boy, sit, stay, come, potty and hello / wave / shake, and we will be learning more as I grow.
I am a extremely friendly dog, I enjoy meeting everyone - fur or no fur, I find them all so delightful. Some of my favorite things to do
are playing with other dogs, snuggling and napping with anyone that will let me and eating- those three things keep me busy all day.
